Fellow Legionnaires,

I can’t believe it has been a month already since I took office.  In that time, I have had the opportunity to meet many of you and received your feedback which I really appreciate. I also had the opportunity to attend a few meetings.  Not having been the most active member, those meetings have really reconnected me with the Legion and its values, not just as an adult, but they also brought back memories of my youth when the members of those days helped shape my values that have been with me my entire life.  So, for all of you more active members than me, let me say thank you for the service you have contributed to the community over the years.  While you may have not heard it that often, I know there are plenty of people like me that are grateful to the mentorship and service you have provided these many years.  I promise to be more active in the future, and I would encourage those who have had my level of participation to rethink your commitment and recognize how important your military service translates to improving our community.
